But before I go, I figured this blog is in need of a little bit of love since it has been sadly ignored for the past couple of weeks. So I leave you today with the Valentine’s Day card I did for the incredibly lovely Horowitz family.

So here’s the deal. I was invited to go with a group of doctors sponsored by New Reality International, an organization that helps provide free medical treatment to the most poverty stricken nations in the world. My job will be to photographically document the work they are doing in order to help raise money to make further trips to Haiti possible. I also plan to work in the makeshift clinic in whatever non-medical capacities that I can.

I’ll be flying to Miami on February 26th and will depart to Haiti on the 27th and stay there for a week. I am financing the trip out of my own pocket as are all of the volunteers to make sure that donations received by NRI go directly to provide medical supplies for those in need. So for any of you who might like to help me make this trip possible, I’ve set up a donation page through my paypal account. Just click on the “Donate” button in the side bar on the left side of the screen. Any amount is greatly appreciated and I will of course be sharing the images I shoot here on the blog when I return. I rented another loft in the building where I have my studio. Since my studio is full of desks and computers and furniture etc., it was great to have a space that was completely dedicated to the task at hand. It also had a nice big window so I was able to shoot some images will available light only. Our dear friend Bianca, who works in my husband’s art department was kind enough to help me rent some pretty amazing furniture to use (like the Barcelona Chair you’ll see below). I really want one of my own. :)

So here is the Burke family…John, Cheri, Jack & Dylan…some of my favorite people in the whole world. Enjoy!

My favorite of the whole night was Drew Barrymore. Sometimes she gets it completely wrong but this time she really nailed out in this gorgeous nude Atelier Versace with crystal embellishments. So so gorgeous!

I also adore Emily Blunt in this wispy pink D&G number…it sort of reminds me of the Reem Acra goddess gowns we’ve been seeing on brides over the past few years…but the pink color makes it fresh & new.

I thought Kate Hudson looked the most bridal in this white Marchesa. I like how it’s quite structured but her hair just didn’t do it for me. Still, it would make a lovely wedding dress.

Diane Kruger looks like a beautiful flower in this Christian Lacroix.

January Jones channels Audrey Hepburn in this amazing black ruffled Lanvin gown.

I also thought that Helen Mirren looked absolutely divine but I couldn’t find a picture of her…what gives?

Happy Holidays to me! It’s been a long time since I’ve had a decent point-and-shoot camera…I mean a loooong time. I do have a half-broken 3 MP digital elph lying around somewhere but the image quality was always so lousy that I couldn’t even bare to have anything printed…and isn’t it sad to not have any pictures of the fun things you do in your life? And since I’m not one of those photographers who likes to lug around a big SLR & lenses everywhere I go, I decided it was finally time to get myself a new point-and-shoot. So as a holiday gift to me, I got myself a Canon G-10 from Samy’s…who definitely had the best deal around on this baby. Did you know that if you order online from Samy’s, everything is about 10% cheaper than in the store. Good to know, right?

So now I have a great camera that I can stick right in my purse and take with me everywhere. That’s what I thought anyway but it seems that the husband has hijacked it for the past week to take to tv shoots. Hopefully soon I’ll be able to steal it back from him so that I’ll be able to shoot images to share on this blog of regular life again. I do have some to post tomorrow about our little holiday trip to Palm Springs…
